Motivate Yourself!

There are times when we don't feel like doing anything and staying in bed, disconnecting socially and just being alone. This can be a sign of depression. You need to constantly monitor your emotions and ask yourself why you have been feeling a certain way. This will help you more than you realize.

I am very lazy as a person and I really procrastinate a lot more than I care to admit. Well, I am human. I know I am low on achievement motivation, thanks to a recent test we did in Psychology class in college and well, I have a few pointers for people who are just like me. Let's get our lazy asses off the bed/couch and DO something with our lives!
I am surrounded by people who have a zest for life, a passion and are eternally busy whilst I sit on the couch with a bag of chips and some coke watching a marathon of Friends..

1. Reward Yourself
Rewarding oneself with little "treats" like a candy, new pair of jeans, etc. upon achieving a certain goal. Be creative about! Reward yourself!
I like to collect money in a "good girl" jar when I do everything that I meant to in a given period of time. Especially if I'm good when it comes to my food-eating habits. I usually get myself a sweet treat, like a cupcake or I get myself clothes that I have in my wishlist.

2. Make a schedule
Be organized. Make to-do lists, a schedule that will help you work efficiently. It's really effective!
I am extremely good at organizing stuff, I love the planning part, the breaking up of tasks into simple do-able thing, but I suck at the execution of it, and guess what? My significant other is good at the execution part and sucks at planning. A match made in heaven..

3. Deadlines
We all know how efficiently we work the day before our deadlines! Of course everyone remembers how on the night before exams, we become productive and finish an year's worth of syllabus in a matter of few hours! If we can do it all in one night, then we surely can do it before the deadline we set up for ourselves.

4. Think of the Relief
Remember the feeling of relief when you realize that all the work that you had to do was, in fact complete? Think of that, make it a motivating factor for yourself. Going out for a vacation? Then work harder on your body so that it can look good at the vacation time!

  1. I agree with all of your tips! I actually try to get a lot of those in, but I still manage to unmotivated myself. It's a curse, I feel haha! I'm glad to find your motivation page, and have already read another post!
